CARAMEL AND CHOCOLATE PECAN BARS

INGREDIENTS:

  • FOR THE CRUST:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:

  1. TO MAKE THE CRUST:
  2. Combine the flour, brown sugar, and butter, beating at medium speed with an electric mixer until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  3. Press onto the bottom of an ungreased 9″x 13″x 2″ baking pan. Place the pecans evenly over the top of the crust.
